RA Poll: Top 50 tracks of 2010
RA winds up its year-end polls with the staff’s take on the top tunes of the year.
Everyone seemed to have an opinion on which version of The Gathering’s “In My System” was the foremost. Chez Damier, Chris Carrier, I:Cube, Milton Jackson and The Revenge all remixed the track—of which an original was never released—although the version that rang loudest, longest and truest was Jef K’s System Mix. House music may have reverted to groove-based thrills in recent years (and “In My System” had plenty of ‘em) but the Frenchman’s remix was all about a single moment: the split second of silence before its bass and drums returned thrillingly to the fore.

Silver Network is proud to present the release from “The Gathering” a group imprint introduced by Chez Damier in 2004. This project adds two new members to the family, with Jef K (Silver Network) & Chris Carrier (Adult Only Records), and of course the founding member – Chez Damier (Balance Alliance) – To create a new vibe. The project is called “In My System,” a very deep, yet underground track featuring raw keys and vocal samples (“you’re in my system, and your in my life tonight…”)
The song was still in production stages when Ricardo Villalobos was given a copy of the Jef K mix, and ever since, the track has become one of his favorites & a standout in every club he has played. The track has since become much sought-after, and Silver Network is pleased to present the digital release just in time for the summer season, as a final answer to the countless emails the team has been receiving to find out WHEN the tracks will finally be released!
We are proud to introduce to “The Gathering Part One,” featuring the Chris Carrier Tex Mix, and the Jef K System Mix.
